The Best Around

From creating high energy, Beatlesque, sing-a-long soundscapes to postpunk anti-authoritarian anthems, the genre-bending, The Best Around, appear to be making their own White Album one song at a time. Forming at the beginning of 2020, the Austin trio recorded their parts separately in their own homes. Rarely collaborating or discussing how the songs should turn out, instead files would just show up in inboxes with few instructions allowing each member to decide what to add, exquisite corpse style. Despite mixing up the order, this is how all their songs have been produced. Using each members previous experience most of their songs contains some elements of punk, post-punk, folk rock, synthpop/rock, new wave, psychedelic rock, garage rock, electronic and jazz.

Their last two songs <a href="spotify:track:5gs5EjldYOe1wt0uJTKKDX" data-name="Lie To Me">Lie To Me</a> and <a href="spotify:album:3PamYVk6xcPzGa8yDXrdZX" data-name="Kissing Your Ass">Kissing Your Ass</a> were selected as KUTX 98.9 FM &#34;Song of The Day.&#34;
