The BLANKO is an alternative rock band from Finland.
Known for their energetic live performances, the band features frontman and songwriter Pauli Hauta-aho, a guitarist and singer also recognized in Finland for his decade-long involvement with the band Apulanta. The lineup also includes bassist Jykke Tikka and drummer Sami Osala, who joined The BLANKO after the breakup of Sunrise Avenue.
The BLANKO boldly merges pop, rock, and electronic elements, creating a distinctive style of modern retro rock. Their lyrics are deeply emotional and thought-provoking, exploring themes that range from personal introspection to broader societal issues. The band's music is a multidimensional and contemporary manifestation of the relentless and hard working band full of passion.
Currently, The BLANKO is working on new material, offering a glimpse of what’s to come with their eagerly awaited single, ‘Shine’.
“Shine is a return to our roots, a return to home, and a return to the authenticity of who we have always been. The process of creating the song was like a dark night of the soul, where things were faced eye to eye, until power of the riff washed away all that no longer served us. The result is a “power song”, where the sacred union of the feminine and masculine is rockingly balanced. The world needs this kind of energy.”, Pauli describes.
