The name Battledragon dates back to singer Tomi’s high school days when a project band by that name played only a single gig.

Years later when Tomi came up with an idea to create a new YouTube project in which some of the biggest hits by various international female artists would get a metallic makeover, it didn’t take long to find a suitable name. At this point there were no official members, everything revolved around Tomi with input from various guest stars.

In 2014 the lineup finally became official when the members’ previous band ceased to exist.

Battledragon continued working on covers for a few more years and played their first gigs but the passion for composing original songs soon took over and the first Battledragon original was released in March 2018.

The next couple of years was spent strictly on working on new material. During this time a good few songs were released.

In early 2021 Battledragon decided to take part in the Finnish Radio Rock Starba, a nationwide battle of the bands, with their song “I Can’t Be Yours”. The band found its way all the way to the top ten and the public vote, subsequently being crowned as the winners in late April of that year.

The beginning of 2022 saw the band signing with the Finnish label Kaiku Entertainment and the subsequent release of the single “Ascending From The Fire”.

This is just the beginning.

Battledragon is:
Tomi Uusitupa - vocals
Tommi Leiritie - guitar
Antti Samuelsson - bass
Ilkka Sointu - drums
