Bone Collector are less an actual group than they are the extension of a television show. Outdoorsman Michael Waddell, co-host of the popular Outdoors Channel hunting show Bone Collector, had been offering fan club concerts (called Brotherhood Jams) at the close of a day of hunting, and the idea for an album of hunting songs grew out of those shows. Waddell enlisted songwriters and singers Rhett Akins and Dallas Davidson to write and record the project, and the resulting album, the lengthily entitled Michael Waddell's Bone Collector: The Brotherhood Album featuring Rhett Akins & Dallas Davidson (which was produced by Akins, Davidson, and Brian Kolb) appeared from Reprise Records in 2010. Waddell was really more of an influence than a musical participant in the album, but with Akins and Davidson fronting and session pros Troy Lancaster, Mike Payne, and Pat McGrath (guitars), Tim Lauer (piano), Brian Pruitt (drums), Joey Canaday (bass), and Wes Hightower (backing vocals) helping out, the album and collective had the feel of a Nashville supergroup. ~ Steve Leggett, Rovi
