The Burley Griffin are a collective of Canberra’s finest musicians in collaboration with frontman and songwriter Evan Buckley.
Evan grew up in Canberra, homeschooled in a religious end-times cult, and has since hitch hiked and toured through 37 American states, exorcising and befriending his demons along the way.
A seasoned and charismatic performer, Evan has spent over 15 years delighting audiences around Australia, NZ and the USA, supporting iconic bands from Augie March to Custard, Mia Dyson and Devon Sproule.
His songwriting spans post religious folk hymns, cinematic lyrical singalongs, and exuberant hip swaggering numbers that meander and swell, then blister and sear, at the hands, lips and hips of each band member (Henry King, Evan Marshalsey, Rohan Fox, Daniel Gaffney), each rendering aural brush strokes of rhythmic interplay and harmonic blend.
