Formed in 1999 by frontman Tommy Boyce, The Casanovas began much like most rock bands, as a recreational collab between a few mates over a few beers but by the year 2000 this Melbourne trio were quickly making a name for themselves in Australia’s rock scene. The release of ‘Keep It Hot’ saw The Casanovas jump on a nine-week stint with The Datsuns as they toured NZ, Europe and the US and was followed by a highly anticipated visit to SXSW in Texas.

A return to home soil initiated a number of national tour supports including The Living End, Motorhead and The Darkness, The Black Crowes, Airbourne and Redd Kross. Somewhere in amongst it all the trio; found time to make appearances at Big Day Out, Meredith, Triple J live, shows in New York and tour in Japan.

Come 2007, familial responsibilities and Tommy’s completion of an architectural degree imposed a hiatus. Then, almost 9 years since their last album, The Casanovas dropped ‘Terra Casanova’ in 2015. Overcoming a number of obstacles including Tommy’s diagnosis with Haemochromatosis – a physically debilitating iron overload disorder – The Casanovas’ return from hiatus was warmly welcomed by all. In 2017 following the release of Terra Casanova, the trio hopped on a plane to Europe where they played a packed out headline tour through countries like Germany, France, Italy and Spain.

Now in 2019 The Casanovas are back with their first new music in 4 years and in their opinion, some of the best they have ever written.
