In April 2013, four mates recorded two songs in a basement in the Brisbane suburbs. Less than a month later, they were signed to UK label Rough Trade as The Creases. Now, after a string of internationally acclaimed EPs and singles, sold-out tours and heavy radio rotation, they have released their long-awaited debut album, Tremolow.

The Creases make charming, disarming pop music at its effortless best. Drawing from influences like Echo & the Bunnymen, Primal Scream, PULP, New Order and Happy Mondays, The Creases easily blend nostalgia and high-energy innovation. With the release of Tremolow, their sound has matured into something uniquely identifiable: youthful, great-haired pop n’ roll underpinned by award-winning songwriting.

It’s been a thoroughly modern trajectory for the young band. After the runaway success of debut single ‘I Won’t Wait’, released as a 7” by Rough Trade, The Creases went on to sign with Liberation Records in Australia and release their 4-track EP Gradient in 2014. The EP and its standout singles ‘Static Lines’ and ‘Gradient’ earned the band a spot opening the 2014 Splendour in the Grass festival, and their most recent single, ‘Impact’, was accompanied by a their biggest tour to date: a sold-out national circuit that cemented their status as firm fan favourites.
