The Crypt

Last updated: 5 days ago

The Crypt, with its dark, riff-driven doom rock began as the brain child of Leif Edling, also known as the driving force of Candlemass. Having written and recorded the debut album, the band took on their own identity with singer and burlesque dancer Pepper, aka the Metal Priestess, leading the way. Together, the Crypt explore the heaviness of doom metal while not being afraid of a big chorus and hook-laden riffs. Mixing the darkness of Doom with Burlesque, creating what could be called Doomlesque.

Following the release of their critically acclaimed debut album, which also became a big seller in it’s vinyl format, the band have released a second EP, and collaborated with Twisted Sister legend Dee Snider on the song Rock Kommander, the title track for the online game of the same name.

The Crypt have played some of Europes most prestigious festivals over the last two years, including Sweden Rock and Rock Hard Festival in Greece as well as several German metal festivals, constantly building their fan base and gaining more followers. If you’re into classic heavy, dark metal but not afraid of modern twists to the genre, The Crypt will be your best surprise this year.
