The Dune Sea is a band from Greensboro, North Carolina, started in 2018. Band members Spencer Underwood and Jake Kremer began writing songs together in 2015, and later decided to form a duo and record an album. The band’s style mostly consists of indie rock, garage rock, psychedelic rock, and folk influences.
They released their first two albums in 2018. The Dune Sea then recruited keyboardist Pierce Felt, drummer Wolfgang Willard, and bassist/producer Aiden Foley, continuing live performances and studio work. Their third album <a href="spotify:album:7swC4PTJdGuj7VlldnuHjK" data-name="The Sandman">The Sandman</a> was released early 2019. Shortly after, they began work on their fourth album. Before the album was finished they released <a href="spotify:album:2wzJrtZQpSSBRR7Q1oTNtw" data-name="Things Are Changing">Things Are Changing</a> as a single, which to their surprise was placed on the <a href="spotify:playlist:37i9dQZF1DX0CIO5EOSHeD" data-name="Lo-fi Indie">Lo-fi Indie</a> playlist. The self titled album The Dune Sea was released fall 2019. Their fifth album, Living Daydreams, was released on December 4th, 2020.
The Dune Sea released the single <a href="spotify:album:1tXvumnyDUvaeaZ3QnhyvJ" data-name="Petrol">Petrol</a> at the tail end of 2022, featuring new members Jack Dunphey on drums and Zach Carter on bass. The Dune Sea disbanded at the end of 2022, but plan to release the upcoming compilations From The Grave volumes 1 &amp; 2 in late 2023.
