The Fever Machine is an international stoner rock trio based in Los Angeles, Quito, and Lisbon.
Formed in 2010, in Shanghai, by Dan Shapiro (vocals/guitar), Miggs Bustamante (drums), and Fabien Barbet (bass), The Fever Machine toured extensively until 2013, playing major festivals in China and Ecuador, sharing the stage with artists like the Secret Machines, Little Dragon, Peaches, the King Khan & BBQ Show, Two Gallants, Daddy Long Legs, Marnie Stern, and Sahara Hotnights.
Known for their distinct mix of hard rock hooks, heavy metal riffs, psychedelic tones, and punk rock rhythms, the Fever Machine independently released their debut LP Living In Oblivion in 2011, following up with the vinyl only La Chupacabra 7" in 2012, released via Genjing Records.
Tracked in Shanghai, mixed in Ecuador, and mastered at New York's West West Side Music by acclaimed engineer Alan Douches (Mastodon, Baroness, High on Fire, Saves the Day), "La Chupacabra" showcases the Fever Machine at its peak. A blend of swirling, distorted guitars, a machine gun bass attack, and heavy, staccato drums, "La Chupacabra" is capped with a memorable vocal melody and hook that sees the Fever Machine packing all their progressive elements into a tight, three-and-a-half-minute banger.
After a decade-long hiatus, in which members pursued a number of musical projects, the Fever Machine is back, and set to release a live concert video and album in late 2023.
