The Forest Rangers came together in Charming, California, assembled by producers Bob Thiele, Jr. and Dave Way as the house band for the FX television series Sons of Anarchy, recording originals and covers used as a soundtrack for the popular show. The core of the band, aside from <a href="spotify:artist:1wYPhZg9lFjhOWiCXd9023">Thiele</a> and engineer Way, are Davey Faragher (bass), Phil Shenale (keyboards), <a href="spotify:artist:5OslOE4iegsG2uqyOZJ2OU">Greg Leisz</a> (pedal steel guitar), <a href="spotify:artist:2ACGbJEQ3zbG0fcPEmdOSP">Matt Chamberlain</a> (drums), and background vocalist Gia Ciambotti, with guitarists Dave Kushner, <a href="spotify:artist:2GRrhSEW2j3FsMkVjiytYZ">Val McCallum</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2nNBTVuxOW6ZpFtxf4vRT5">Lyle Workman</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:4LhV33vJvXmFGSM3m5RzUR">Blake Mills</a>, bassist Bob Glaub, and drummers <a href="spotify:artist:3UCv7lEbL97weB3jm0JICL">Don Heffington</a>, Pete Thomas, and Brian Macleod also floating in and out of the band as need and schedules allow.
