Grunge pop group The Grandstand Jockeys emerged in 2021 after former punk drummer Ron Burris decided to spend his newfound free time during the pandemic improving his guitar chops. Wanting to get his first 5 songs recorded, Ron reached out to his friend and musical collaborator Dan Dismore, the owner of Overit Studios, who paired him with Dave Parker (of Coheed and Cambria fame) to help co-produce, and the rest was history.
Their first recordings saw Ron on the drums, rhythm guitar, and vocals, acting as a poor man’s Dave Grohl, and Eric Braymer on the lead guitar, bass, and backup vocals - the two joining forces in a collaborative process which culminated in the release of their first EP 'Win', followed soon by their second EP ‘Place'.
Meanwhile, the search was on for the other pieces to the puzzle — a full lineup. Once they'd found their drummer Brian Rex and their bassist Brian Schifferdecker, the fearsome foursome started racking up up gigs left and right, sharing the stage with Austin Meade, Sgt Scag, Crobot, and more, while exposing their growing and diverse fanbase to their rapidly refining sound.
The Grandstand Jockeys have come a long way since their early days. With a reputation for electric live performances, two EPs under their belt and a third on the way, The Grandstand Jockeys are chomping at the bit at the gates and perpetually ready to run at blistering speed towards the proverbial finish line — their goal of being the biggest band the world has ever known.
