The Grizzly Folk started as a duo, playing British sea shanties to confused audiences in the south of Japan. Occasionally we'd write our own stuff, and eventually that avenue led us to the albums <a href="spotify:album:6hF1LHdZcWJI1vZiR8T6xQ" data-name="Gurning at the Moon">Gurning at the Moon</a> and <a href="spotify:album:6alPNNoPsrIWqLjBcIgKcY" data-name="Lairy Through the Town">Lairy Through the Town</a> as well as the <a href="spotify:album:5ZQVZ0eFI5cnsvx5P4cjym" data-name="Baibaba Bimba">Baibaba Bimba</a> EP. In 2019, we released a set of old recordings called <a href="spotify:album:4Lw7od6p4ZfdLUaTqhPMGL" data-name="Leftovers">Leftovers</a> and a standalone single – a cover of <a href="spotify:album:2XQZ2mWaXgTvTzATIqyl5k" data-name="October Song">October Song</a> by the Incredible String Band.
<a href="spotify:artist:3QqqaxKcV7Nb3CpStYQxyO" data-name="Jon Wilks">Jon Wilks</a>, the singer and guitarist in the band, also appears on Spotify as a solo artist playing traditional folk songs. Jon Nice, who plays all keyboards and many of the loops, also plays with Butcher's Dog. In the past, band members have included Dai Evans of <a href="spotify:artist:1m4bCyR17LDjATvCdGQnLO" data-name="Nanbanjin">Nanbanjin</a> (Jon Wilks produced their first album), Richard Lines, Em Kuntze and Dave Borgeson of <a href="spotify:artist:6rfrQ5iJauSVAagR4Cdjdz" data-name="Cut Flowers">Cut Flowers</a>.
