The High Dials are a psychedelic indie pop band from Montreal with a fluctuating line-up centred around founding members Trevor Anderson and Robbie MacArthur. Other current members include Max Hebert, Charles Pham-Dang and Simon Quevillon.
While their melodic sensibility, harmonies and jangling guitars owe an obvious debt to the 60s and power pop groups, they also draw upon shoegaze, new wave and folk sounds to create rich and varied albums. Over 20+ years they’ve released 6 records and toured North America and the UK multiple times, including support slots with Brian Jonestown Massacre and Echo & the Bunnymen. They have also toured Ireland, Mexico and Colombia. Their music has featured frequently in film and TV, notably in the Netflix series House of Cards. On record, they have collaborated with legends Andrew Loog Oldham and Rod Argent of The Zombies. In 2019 they released the two-part album "Primitive Feelings" and performed at Focus Wales. In 2023, to mark the band's 20-year anniversary, The High Dials re-released their debut album "A New Devotion"—a concept record and neo-psychedelic touchstone that Tinnitus called “a timeless (and near flawless) bit of magic.”
