Hailing from the four corners of the world but based in London, the See See are psychedelic revivalists intent on bringing the candied, swirling sounds of the '60s into the new millennium. Richard Olson, who had previously played in the Eighteenth Day of May, formed the See See with Paulie Cobra, Kevin Peyok, Sam Ferman, and Phil Anderson. They launched their band the old-fashioned way: with a series of 45-rpm singles. These, along with their concerts, earned them plum opening spots for such similarly minded bands as the Brian Jonestown Massacre and the Raconteurs, and soon their vinyl-only 2010 debut, Late Morning Light, followed. In 2011, the album saw release on CD and started to rack up good notices in the U.K. press. In 2012, their second album, Fountayne Mountain, continued to build momentum, and in 2014 they made their first inroads into the U.S. market when Sundazed Records released a compilation of their first two albums. A brand-new studio album was scheduled to follow in 2014. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, Rovi
