Los Angeles ska-punks the Hippos formed in late 1995, comprising singer/guitarist Ariel Rechtshaid, bassist James Bairian, trumpeter Louis Castle, trombonists Danny Rukasin and Rich Zahniser, and drummer Kyle Biggs.
