Ralph Hodges (guitar, vocals), Felix Hodges (violin), James Hodges (rhythm guitar), and John White (bass, vocals) hailed from Bogue Chitto, MS. A bluegrass quartet for most of its existence, the group made a convincing low-key foray into rockabilly music in the fall of 1956 with "I'm Gonna Rock Some Too," which included solos by both guitar players. The quartet saw its records issued on the Mississippi label and on Trumpet, Decca, and Whispering Pines, as well a complete LP on Arhoolie. Ralph Hodges cut a solo album of his own as well. ~ Bruce Eder, Rovi
