The Instigators are an alternative-reggae <g class="gr_ gr_12 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" id="12" data-gr-id="12">four piece</g> currently based in Honolulu, Hawai’i.
Founded in 2011, the band currently consists of original members Ka’ala Tsukada [vocals/guitar], Paul Spencer [bass], and Ryan Aquino [drums], with Landan Tolentino [guitar] being the most recent addition to the group.
The Instigators’ mutual admiration of 90s alternative and ska punk artists such as Sublime and No Doubt bleeds into the ears of listeners as their most blatant influence, followed by more subtle-yet-present hints of roots reggae and surf rock.
