Brian Colhoun, aka “The Lion Colhoun” is an experienced musician and performer from Dublin. He cut his performance teeth in Asia with The Big Brass Balls band in the early 2000s and refined his songwriting and craft in Paris over a four year period performing all the while around the Parisian Irish Pub scene. Famous for “walking on the bar” during performances, he puts as much energy as he can into each show. Since returning from Paris to Dublin he has been writing and releasing music steadily while also performing.
His songs cover the themes of love, loss, regret, heartbreak, loneliness and sorrow delivered over melodic waves that hide the same themes. His well received single “Leaving with Our Friends” is a favourite among grassroots songwriters in Ireland and he is releasing his debut E.P. in 2024, co-produced by the legendary Grum Gallagher.
