An energetic alt four-piece that plays an eclectic mix of atmospheric, noisy, and uplifting indie songs. The Malago Ballroom has existed as a live band since emerging onto the Bristol music scene in January 2018 and already have three singles, two music videos, and a 7-track EP firmly under their belts, entirely self-produced and self-released. Their unique alt-indie songs fuse noisy driving grooves, pop singalongs, and atmospheric instrumentals to energise and uplift the audience.
Over the past year they have earned support slots opening for Valeras, Flight Brigade, and Port Erin, as well as receiving airplay from local radio stations including BBC Introducing. They have garnered consistently favourable reviews from local publications including Bristol In Stereo, Hide The Line, and Tap The Feed who ranked the band's EP Launch as their 15th best gig of 2018.
"The Malago Ballroom, as a name, sounds grand and spacious, a quality you could ascribe to their soaring indie rock tunes"..."there aren’t many new bands that are likely to get you into as much of a lather as these energetic indie craftsmen" - Bristol Live, magazine
"The Malago Ballroom aren't a band to skimp on a big chorus. Their honest, emotion-filled indie rock goes big - and we mean big; through the window, past the trees, over the hill and straight into the middle of a bright, blue sky" - Magoo, promoter
"They are very animated and like to move around when they are playing." - Anon.
