The Marigolds are a four-piece rock band from Pittsburgh, PA. After playing in various other bands together, Magdelena Rubenstein and Abby Buzzard met Cassandra and Vanessa Prentiss in July 2022. The quartet has always shared common musical tastes such as Pixies, The Strokes, The White Stripes, and Veruca Salt. This shared love of indie and garage rock led them to form the Marigolds in September of 2022. Since then, the Marigolds have played numerous events around the Pittsburgh area such as Millvale Music Festival and Pittsburgh Pride Revolution.
While the Marigolds frequently play shows, recording has been a priority throughout 2023. Their first and latest release is My Rosary, which was produced on 91.3 Wyep's Reimagination 10 album with Dana Cannone. The song lyrically refers to ‘Hamlet,’ by Shakespeare while painting an emotional sonic landscape in the instrumental. The Marigolds are set to release more music in the coming months of 2023.
