Emerging from Almere, The Netherlands, The Medicines are an inventive guitar-wave band that blends dark, brooding vocals with effect-driven staccato guitar, energetic bass and psychedelic synthesizers. Heavenly rooted in the ‘80s music scene, yet reshaped in their own distinctive style. The band is fronted by Amber Hermsen (vocals, synthesizer) and Gene Teysse (guitar).
The Medicines’ long-awaited debut album, Shine Through The Darkness, arrives on November 14, 2025.
The album will be available on all major streaming services and Bandcamp, with CD and cassette editions released by Violet Hour Transmissions (Portland, USA).
