This is not the story of a band. It is the story of a sound - and the fanatic subculture promoting it - that emerged over half a century ago, but that yet still manages to evolve, excite and enthral hundreds of thousands of people across the globe. The northern soul scene’s unyielding support of and passion for obscure black American soul sounds of the 60´s and 70´s is burning as bright as ever.
The Northern Soul Orchestra saw the light of day in 2015 when they came together as a backing band for various soul vocalists. Their devotion to the unique club sound (from where they have taken their name) along with their outstanding musicianship and excellent arrangement skills, was the starting point for their string of instrumental recordings of both classics and lesser known tracks for the northern soul aficionado.
