‘the orchard’(aka. 진동욱) is a natural storyteller. As demonstrated by his second EP, Preview Coincidence, he is a musician skilled at creating and performing music reminiscent of a one-act play. A prime example is the song "At the Theatre," which portrays a story of someone who accidentally watches a movie in which they appear, plunging them into a momentary delusion, causing them to run out of the theater. the orchard first appeared on the scene in 2017 as a member of the band Decadent and began his solo career in 2019. Since then, he has steadfastly and boldly continued his work, using love and loss as his main ingredients.
Starting with quintessentially Korean essential ballads and extending to folk, blues, alternative, and modern rock, ‘the orchard’ has consistently explored a wide range of musical styles while maintaining a consistent narrative centered around love.
