The Other Half

The Other Half is an indie rock trio based out of El Paso, Texas. Following the disbandment of a previous project, the three reclaimed their musical chemistry and began honing in on a sound uniquely theirs. That sound, as with most bands, was distinctly shaped by the massive catalogue of musical influences shared amongst the group. Bands like The Strokes, Kings of Leon, The Arctic Monkeys, and Interpol left a profound impression on the group’s primary songwriters. The Other Half sound is an emulation of these musical stylings coupled with their own upbringing rooted in classic rock.

The band has steadily evolved from hard-driven, rock & roll, towards a more harmonious and upbeat sound. ‘Emrason’, for example, showcases the duality of crisp guitar leads, accompanied by funky bass lines. Other songs like ‘Christopherson Dario’ and single ‘New Century Man’ still capture the hard-hitting origins of this trio. All three are featured in the band’s debut EP, ‘Family of Fools’. Recorded in early 2015 with Ross Ingram at Brainville Studios and mastered by Chris Common. The EP includes five tracks and can be found on iTunes, Spotify, and Bandcamp. <br>
