In 2004, Stevan Dinet and Michael Bontemps formed The Parisians following a meeting with The Libertines. The duo is joined by JB Devay (bass) and Xavier Roussel (drums). They performed their first concerts at Bar III and Shebeen in Paris. They took part in the first Rock 'n' Roll Friday evenings organized by Rock & Folk, at the initiative of Philippe Manoeuvre, who gave them his support and devoted an article to them in Rock & Folk in August 2006. They also took part in the Poptones evenings of Alan McGee. In 2005, the group broke up.
At Stevan's initiative, the group reformed in 2006, with Nicolas Meylan on bass, Clément Collette on drums and Xavier, former drummer of the group, on guitar. Yarol Poupaud having just created his own label Bonus Tracks Records with Caroline de Maigret, decided to co-produce the compilation Paris Calling bringing together the main groups of the new French rock scene. During the same year, they notably opened for Rita Mitsouko, as well as that of the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. In March 2008, they participated in the music festival, South by Southwest (SXSW) held in Austin, Texas.
Shaking the Ashes of Our Enemies, the group's first album, was released in March 20101. On June 16, 2012, the group announced its dissolution. Stevan Dinet continues his career with the group "Seesters" and Charles Rowell (Crocodiles) project "Crush of Souls". Xavier and Clément founded the group "Lenz Faraday".
