Indiana-based trio The Peffercorns began their musical journey in earnest in late 2022 when the guys took to the proverbial stage at a family Christmas party. What started as a modest jam session soon sparked a deeper connection, as the two brothers, punk rock veterans Ben and Alex Painter, joined by brother-in-law Bryce Werskey, decided to take their indie rock sound to the world.
The band got going quickly. 2023 was accentuated with the release of their debut single “Night Drive”, which quickly grew to a fan favorite, a tune which Fort Wayne’s Whatzup magazine called “The right ingredients: melodies, heart-on-sleeve emotion, and family bonds.”
2024 follow up singles, “You” and “On the Road”, further showcase the band’s knack for crafting songs that resonate deeply with listeners, capturing a sense of freedom and nostalgia that defines their sound.
With the release of their latest EP, No Time for Sunshine, The Peffercorns offer a more mature and sophisticated sonic experience. This new material represents a shift from their earlier work, leading fans down a darker, more introspective path as the band delves into themes of personal struggle and growth – perhaps an honest reflection of their current stage in life. The EP reflects The Peffercorns’ evolution as musicians, and demonstrates a willingness to push their creative boundaries while staying true to the emotive and authentic style that has endeared them to fans from the beginning.
