The Rang-Rangs are a punk rock band from Jakarta, Indonesia, active since 2016. Formed by Mika Tobing, Miko Tobing and Bagas Raka, they play fast, honest, and energetic music. Their songs are built on three chord riffs and everyday stories. Sometimes cheeky, sometimes funny but always real.
After releasing their debut EP <a href="spotify:album:6uSW1UJYzbkjGkXurmTnw4" data-name="Fun The Mentals">Fun The Mentals</a> (2016) which was produced by Jimi Multhazam (<a href="spotify:artist:3JoyBiTkzGqZCWwq07no59" data-name="Morfem">Morfem</a> / <a href="spotify:artist:0EyRRRjkb75NnZx3G0JXul" data-name="The Upstairs">The Upstairs</a>), they kept moving forward with a series of singles: <a href="spotify:album:0qLm3IMd5nSFJ2pz0UEPIb" data-name="Sejuknya Mobil Bapakmu">Sejuknya Mobil Bapakmu</a> (2019), <a href="spotify:album:05CsiGaPcAJjRfNjeVtaq3" data-name="Senangnya Disapa Dirimu">Senangnya Disapa Dirimu</a> (2019), <a href="spotify:album:3WQKM3uvdhCdtzfjqNolu1" data-name="(Oh) Kau Kobam">(Oh) Kau Kobam</a> (2020), <a href="spotify:album:71tTvN924QFHpgNytziYtw" data-name="Kau Culas">Kau Culas</a> (2020) and <a href="spotify:album:7xYgQCsz03wEFitKNgsQ5U" data-name="Gelanggang">Gelanggang</a> (2022). All of these led to their first full-length album, <a href="spotify:album:5XEvQ1eJnVEmRrieoTGBhk" data-name="9 Jahitan">9 Jahitan</a> (2023).
In 2023, following the release of 9 Jahitan, The Rang-Rangs went on tour across Central and East Java, and continued to the Greater Jakarta area in 2024. From sweaty living room gigs to cafés and big stages, they played every show with the same fire. The whole journey was captured in a documentary released in early 2025.
The Rang-Rangs are still going strong. With the same spirit since day one, they carry the punk rock energy wherever they go. Loud, honest and fun.
