Micho, Pakie, and Gussie Russell, three brothers from the town of Doolin, in the county of Clare, were among the smoldering coals that fed the Irish folk revival. Micho in particular, through extensive touring and sharing of his music and songs, was an important link between the essentially urban folk revival and the roots of Irish rural music. His tragic death in 1994 in an auto accident saddened all lovers of Irish music. ~ Steve Winick, Rovi
