William Schneider’s first band, The One-Eyed Jacks was on the White Cliffs, and Roulette labels. The band’s alumni include: manager, Irving Azoff, THE premier force in the music industry; Budd Carr, music director for Oliver Stone; Barry Fasman, music director for television hit “Fame,” (he also arranged and conducted top 10 hits for artists like Melissa Manchester and Diana Ross); and Tom Kelly who wrote 11 number one hits for stars like, Madonna, Heart, and The Bangles.
Schneider’s 2nd group, Fat Water, was on MGM records. Later he and wife, Caren started “Freeze” with drummer, Rob Ross, and guitar prodigy, Michael Angelo Batio (MAB). Rob played in touring bands before and after Freeze including: US, The Flyin’ Ryan Brothers, and actress, Sally Richard’s band. Ross provided drums and vocals on several of MAB’s solo albums: Lucid Intervals and Moments of Clarity, No Boundaries, and the current, More Machine Than Man.
The Schneider Ross Band is William Schneider (bass, keyboards, slide guitar, and vocals) and Rob Ross (drums, guitar, and vocals). World-class guitarist, MAB is a frequent guest artist as is William’s daughter, Jamie Rose. (On the first SRB album, she sang lead on “You Don’t Miss Your Water” and “Dear Prudence” and harmony on most of the other tracks. She wrote the choral parts on “Horse of Many Colors,” “Dear Prudence,” and “Just a Girl.”)
Engineer/producer Mike Weber’s knowledge and great ear made these recordings happen!
