THE SHADE OF CROW is a Black Metal one-man project conceived in 2009 by Igor Goularth as the first step taken in the long road to evolve as composer, instrumentalist & vocalist.
The first act of the project was an EP with five straightforward Black Metal songs, entitled "The Progression of the Black Clouds", which was released in 2011 and was received by media and fans worldwide.
In 2015, a collaborative song entitled "Cracked Mirror" was made under the name of THE SHADE OF CROW with the russian solo artist SENMUTH, which opened a door to a progressive/experimental vein. Igor Goularth provided all vocals & lyrics. "Cracked Mirror" was released and distributed for free and included an introduction and an instrumental version.
THE SHADE OF CROW announced in late 2019 that the recordings of its long-awaited new release was in works, which came to fruition in September, 2020 as an EP entitled "Forgotten Times".
"Forgotten Times" brings four songs from the past to future with minimal changes from the original material, reafirming all the achievements of the project since its foundation, but also serving as the bridge that will connect it to the new era, both musically and lyrically.
In 2021, THE SHADE OF CROW released the first of three EPs linked to abstract concepts, "Capítulo I: Ruínas" ("Chapter I: Ruins" in Portuguese), shifting from English to Portuguese as the main language for future releases, but also musically, bringing a very dense sounding.
