THE SHALLOW GRAVES formed in 2005, consolidating the talent of two long- standing friends Julian Aust (Caressing Misery) and Christian Rossbach (ex-Madre Del Vizio/ Madre, Chassalla, Moribund Thirteen A.D.), to bring to life their mutual vision of dynamic gothic rock, which successfully bridges a fresh but recognizable classic sound with a bygone golden era.
The project began with the well received Demo „Those Hollow Eyes”.
This demo was followed by several scene compilation appearances (Darkness Before Dawn Vol I, Pagan Love Songs Vol II, Goth Is What You Make It and many more). They contributed songs to the soundtrack of the US horrorthriller „From A Place Of Darkness” and then celebrated their only live performance in 2008 as support for the reunion show of Vendemmian at the legendary Sex and Drugs and Drum Machines Festival in Berlin.
In 2013 they released their first full-length album „Smoke-Screen For Your Broken Dream”.
This album was followed in 2017 by the „Given Out Of Hand” 7” and the full-length album „Breathing Prayers and Echos of Goodbyes” on Wave Records.
In 2023, The Shallow Graves released promo albums MMXXIII 1 and MMXXIII 2, Most recently, in 2024 the promos MMXXIII 1 and MMXXIII 2 were released on cassette through the label Violet Hour Transmissions, and a new full-length album is set to be released on October 31st 2024 with Wave Records.
