The Sons of Rainier is the full band project of songwriter <a href="spotify:artist:4U0jOffmlONeG89yVZYt56" data-name="Devin Champlin">Devin Champlin</a>, featuring members <a href="spotify:artist:4EIdxKX5DkSd7DQhtmY5DN" data-name="Dean Johnson">Dean Johnson</a>, Sam Gelband (<a href="spotify:artist:5e91xFSQrnkM7sGnwGnuQ5" data-name="Mr. Sam & the People People">Mr. Sam & the People People</a>), and Charlie Meyer. Together they create easy going alt-folk for hard times. Open book lyricism, sparse instrumentation, and saturated vocal harmony is the bedrock of the sound. They hail from NW Washington with one foot in Louisiana. Their first album <a href="spotify:album:129gnXomVHCCYWypsH2Psk" data-name="Down in Pancake Valley">Down in Pancake Valley</a> has found its way into the permanent library of hobos, widows, fry cooks, and fancy pants alike. Their second album <a href="spotify:album:7aPoYZPDMvQQB9EIrNfHTR" data-name="Take Me Anywhere">Take Me Anywhere</a> released in Feb 2023 and continues their thread of pondering, wandering, losing, loving, and longing.
