The Sound of Mountains is the project of multi-instrumentalist, Christopher Morin. Originally from rural upstate NY, he had formed a 5-piece rock band based around Albany, NY where he was one of the primary songwriters and lead guitarist. However in late 2016, he relocated to Southern California. Eventually, The Sound of Mountains was born. He writes and plays almost all the instrumentation, focusing on guitar, with the exception of occasional contributions of others. Considering himself an outdoorsman, the music is highly intentional to reflect his experiences in nature and its attributes, along with creating an experience for the listener to support thought, reflection, healing and emotional release. These aspects naturally gears the music towards a cinematic vibe, in which previous to TSOM, Christopher began film scoring and has continued to. The music ranges from softer acoustic based songs, to wall of sound post-rock. Having a BA in Psychology and working almost a decade in the field professionally, the patterns of the mind and dealing with emotion greatly impact the style of music and more specifically, song structure. All that mixed with a life-changing awakening experience to the revelation of Jesus and the spiritual life, The Sound of Mountains is his outlet to express how it all weaves together in the authentic human experience, with the words only being expressed in song or album titles.
