(The Sounds of) Kaleidoscope began in Washington, DC by Damien C. Taylor in 1995. After years of hand made & distributed cassettes and lineup changes, a demo session with the Lilys’ Kurt Heasley led Taylor to Doug Bailey (The Ropers, Justines, The Still) and Alex Hacker (Lilys, The Ropers, Air Miami, The Still)
This core lineup was the source of all major releases through 2008. Once relocating to Philadelphia, Taylor and DC era holdover Mike Hirst rebuilt with Tim Plunkett (Gondola) and Christian McAllen (Lilys) to compose Freezer-Burn in the Fever Fields (2010), ultimately their final release before Taylor and Plunkett dissolved the band in 2012, leading to the development of The Flash Hits with Michael Hammel (Lilys, Ropers, Pink Skull, False Tracks).
