Folk-pop duo the Story were comprised of singer/songwriters <a href="spotify:artist:3djsIvG79aMILDWDNiyChc">Jonatha Brooke</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:0rl64IYrYwc9sbXA5HLq6L">Jennifer Kimball</a>, who first teamed up in 1981 while freshmen at Amherst College. Originally appearing under the name Jonatha & Jennifer, they performed regularly throughout the Boston area until graduation, at which time <a href="spotify:artist:3djsIvG79aMILDWDNiyChc">Brooke</a> joined a dance company and <a href="spotify:artist:5sdxXYNUkJPaTacZ5K0RSx">Kimball</a> joined a publishing firm. The occasional gig followed, however; in 1989, they finally recorded a demo, dubbed Over Oceans, and were quickly signed by the <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Green+Linnet%22">Green Linnet</a> label. Changing their name to the Story, their debut LP Grace in Gravity appeared in 1991; <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Elektra%22">Elektra</a> then snapped up the duo, reissuing the album a year later. Angel in the House followed in 1993, but a year later the Story dissolved; both <a href="spotify:artist:3djsIvG79aMILDWDNiyChc">Brooke</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:5sdxXYNUkJPaTacZ5K0RSx">Kimball</a> continued on as solo performers. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi
