2014년 첫 싱글을 발매한 이후, 스트레이는 한국 인디 씬에서 주목받는 신예로 떠올랐다. 이후 3년 동안 정규 앨범 1장과 다수의 미니 앨범을 발표하며 한국의 유명 록 페스티벌 무대에도 올랐지만, 2016년 개인 사정으로 활동이 중단되었다.

잠시 휴식기를 가진 스트레이는 2020년 "너, 너" 로 컴백하며 다시 음악 활동을 시작했다. 이어 발표된 싱글 ‘달’ 역시 감성적인 서정미로 큰 사랑을 받으며 스트레이의 음악적 정체성을 더욱 공고히 했다.

After releasing its first single in 2014, The Stray quickly emerged as a notable newcomer in the Korean indie scene. Over the next three years, the project released one full-length album and multiple mini albums, performing on major rock festival stages across Korea. However, activities came to a halt in 2016 due to personal reasons.

After a brief hiatus, The Stray resumed musical activities in 2020 with the comeback single “You, You.” The follow-up single “Moon” also received great acclaim for its emotional and lyrical sensibility, further solidifying The Stray’s musical identity.
