The Undertows

Born in an art school dorm on California’s fog-streaked coast, The Undertows began as a phantom sound—surf rock echoes drifting through late-night halls. That spark has since grown into a full force: now signed to Another Wave Records, the band has released two acclaimed full-lengths (The Undertows and The Black Lagoon Luau) along with the shadowy EP Midnight in the Tiki Room.

Haunting yet hypnotic, their music draws from the pulp romance of vintage island records and the dangerous cool of ‘60s garage bands. Think Martin Denny marooned in a David Lynch dream, or The Surfaris hosting a haunted luau.
