With roots in Syracuse, New York, The Whether Channel is an emo band that meets zero expectations but hey, you’re reading this. Andrew Garces (Guitar/Vocals), Rory Stanley (Guitar/Vocals), Max Marcy (Bass) and Jimmy Unanue (Drums) all met as freshmen in the Setnor School of Music at Syracuse University. Starting the band as a joke to break up after one show, the band noticed the positive response and their musical compatibility and continued on. Playing many basement shows in the Syracuse area, the four forged their own unique sound, self described as “bummer core”, a term they found on the website Bandcamp. Their innovative combination of metalcore, emo pop, and math rock creates a passionate and hard hitting catalogue of songs to scream along to.
