The Columbus, OH-based indie duo the Yips were formed in 1995 by singer/guitarist Gilmore Tamny -- an alumna of <a href="spotify:artist:5lKc60Gspmi2XXfIEitkaZ">Mike Rep</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:5lKc60Gspmi2XXfIEitkaZ">the Quotas</a>, as well as the erstwhile publisher of the fanzine Wiglet -- and drummer <a href="spotify:artist:1Z4jBdcpr88dcGuNHwo2No">Jon Davidson</a>. After signing to the Siltbreeze label, the Yips soon issued their first single, "1000% Fox; " their debut LP, Bonfire in a Dixie Cup, followed in 1996.
