TheSaif is a Southwest Asian/ North African (SWANA) artist born and raised in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and is now based in New York City.
TheSaif is a self-taught musician who started making music at a young age. He started producing music using his father's - Mamdouh Saif - old Cubase DAW and a giant computer that stored around 14,000+ sounds and plugins.
When he was young, the religious laws restricted music; therefore, there was no place to share or perform his music, so he just kept producing hundreds of unreleased tracks over the years. Later on, in 2013, TheSaif shared his first song on SoundCloud and started growing his audience on the platform. His music was well received by listeners and was heard by artists such as Pusha T, Ashanti, Swizz Beatz, and more.
As a child, TheSaif was inspired by variety of music genres thanks to his father’s collection of hundreds of music CDs from artists around the world, such as Buddha-Bar, The Neptunes, Umm Kulthum, Kenny G, Amr Diab, Nelly Furtado, Michael Jackson, Abdul Majeed Abdullah, Yanni, Madonna, B.B. King, Johann Sebastian Bach, Carlos Campos (Barrio Latino), George Benson and more.
TheSaif recent work includes his latest single Labne which was featured on Fresh Finds Arabia as “one of the best new music by independent artists from the MENA region,” and Bringing It Back (ft. Scorzayzee).
