TL4, the Thierry Lemaitre Quartet, is a creative collective shaped by the international experience of its Parisian saxophonist leader, known for his work with Ephemerals, Wolfgang Valbrun (Jalapeńo Records), and Biomania (Folded Music).
Upon moving to Leipzig, he brought together a diverse lineup: himself, a French saxophonist; Gregor Forbes, a Scottish pianist; Diego Alejandro, a Chilean bassist;
and Heinrich Eiszmann, a German drummer.
Their debut album titled « Less is More » firmly sits in the hip-hop jazz category, drawing inspiration from artists such as Butcher Brown and Makaya McCraven. Yet it carries an intimate, pure, and minimalist quality reminiscent of jazz giants like John Coltrane and Bill Evans.
Less Is More is coming soon — first single already out called Ain’t No Perfection, with the full album set for release in spring 2026 on the British label Folded Music.
