THIS THING WE CALL JAM is a music and arts collective based in London with multicultural roots from France to Portugal and the UK, a blender of influences from a pan-European heritage. Jazz, folk, funk and punk are distilled into potent soulful jams. Formed around a charismatic vocal front man and classically-trained guitarist, the group extends and contracts from an intimate two-piece to a big band featuring producers, musicians and dancers.
Since 2013, This Thing We Call Jam has become a staple of the London music bar and club scene, playing regular gigs and festivals to large crowds. Highlights include fundraising charity nights for Syrian refugees, playing at Passing Clouds before it was controversially closed by Hackney borough in London and wandering nomadic sets at Boomtown Festival.
