Thomas Ashby is a singer-songwriter from southeast England. With a timeless sound that pulls from folk and blues, Tom interweaves the influences of John Martyn, Radiohead, Neil Young, Herbie Hancock, Velvet Underground, and Nina Simone.
Tom released his second album, ‘Better’, in May of 2021. On it he combines intricate folk, blues, and jazz compositions with delving lyricism and soaring vocals. The album’s launch gig at Servant Jazz Quarters in London, featuring his full international backing band, was a sellout.
During his travels Tom has played at Children In Need’s Car Fest, Big Feastival, and LeeFest, among others, and opened for the likes of Jolie Holland and Kele Okereke. His music has been played on BBC Radio 2, BBC Introducing, and Radio X.
