Thorn Haze is a multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter from an old oil town in south-central Kansas, known for blending indie, rock, alternative & blues.
Raised by schoolteachers in Burns, Kansas, Haze’s early memories include watching Tim Burton blow up a donut shop in his backyard for the film "Mars Attacks!" Born a twin, Haze and his brother began teaching each other guitar, bass, ukulele, brass, and drums at age 10, shaping his early connection to storytelling through music. A few weeks after graduating college, Haze became a university professor in audio production. During this time, he balanced odd jobs like antique dealing, casework, sports videography while working remotely with as an audio editor for Santana, Gary Clark Jr., Christone Ingram and Steve Stevens.
Haze’s breakthrough came in 2023 when he launched a year-long project to write & record a new song every day in remote locations. This bold experiment attracted thousands of new fans which allowed him to refine his sound and creative process for his sophomore album La Luz, produced by Kenny Riley (Santana, Steve Stevens, Grace VanderWaal, Noah Reid).
Released in October 2025, Hymns For Heathens explores the dark corners of southern gothic blues, country and indie music to see what happens when the lights flicker on and off.
2026 is still being written.
