Inspired by <a href="spotify:artist:51Blml2LZPmy7TTiAg47vQ" data-name="U2">U2</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:4gzpq5DPGxSnKTe4SA8HAU" data-name="Coldplay">Coldplay</a>, Thriving Ivory came together when Clayton Stroope and Scott Jason met in college. They released their self-titled debut album on on June 24, 2008. The debut album reached No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart on the strength of the charting single "<a href="spotify:track:0pRfOWb0VgT5o8bws4iHvf" data-name="Angels On The Moon">Angels On The Moon</a>", which went certified Gold in the US. Their second studio album, <a href="<a href="spotify:album:57kcvX6gvVTkIZEgv9ztEk" data-name="Through Yourself & Back Again">Through Yourself & Back Again</a>quot; data-name="Through Yourself & Back Again">Through Yourself & Back Again</a> was released on September 14, 2010.
In the summer of 2016 founding members Scott & Clayton began working on new material for what would be there first new release since 2010. After announcing this, they met with their new manager Jeremy Lopez of the management firm Lippman Entertainment (<a href="spotify:artist:19ra5tSw0tWufvUp8GotLo" data-name="George Michael">George Michael</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3Ngh2zDBRPEriyxQDAMKd1" data-name="Matchbox Twenty">Matchbox Twenty</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3aBkeBhwadnWMWoVJ2CxJC" data-name="Rob Thomas">Rob Thomas</a>), and under his guidance, they began working on new music. Plans are currently underway for a 2018 tour and the release of new music starting with the new single, '<a href="spotify:track:5RpyRRuEi4Wra8U5c2djWa" data-name="See You">See You</a>'.
