A noise pop quartet that owes its heavily reverbed sound to the Jesus and Mary Chain and the Swirlies, Thrushes were formed in Baltimore, Maryland by vocalist/guitarist Anna Conner, guitarist/vocalist Casey Harvey, bassist Rachel Tracy, and drummer Matt Davis. Having previously been active in the Baltimore music scene in the mid-'90s, Harvey and Tracy teamed up in summer 2005, later joined by Conner and Davis. Sun Come Undone was their debut effort, released in March 2007, and the similarly plaintive, echo-minded Night Falls followed in 2010. With Scott Tiemann taking over on drums, Thrushes emerged again in 2015 with the J. Robbins-produced Exposing Seas on New Granada Records. ~ Kenyon Hopkin & Marcy Donelson, Rovi
