Thryn is a musician and songwriter based in the UK. They were introduced to the piano aged 8 and sang in classical choirs for many years before making their solo debut with ‘Boy Magnet’ in October 2020. This was the first release in a series of collaborations with friend and fellow musician Izzy Kershaw, which culminated in the four song EP ‘They Talk About Us’, released in May 2024.
Thryn’s narrative songwriting has a folk sensibility, drawing inspiration from speculative fiction and art as well as from the complexities of life in the digital age. They write melancholic, choral-inspired harmonies with a gothic undertone, portraying a liminal and sometimes fantastical world. Musical influences include: Florence and the Machine, Kate Bush, Goldfrapp, Active Child, Bat for Lashes and FKA twigs, among many others.
