Born and raised in Calgary, Canada 22-year-old rapper DeSean Williams (a.k.a. $tik) got his hometown going brazy. Starting in 2017, connecting with life-long friend/recording artist <a href="spotify:artist:70zQgJZkTI7rz0N0eSd1lY" data-name="Black$tar">Black$tar</a> and mutual friend/recording artist <a href="spotify:artist:2kVbD4AIceT536YNeocqiM" data-name="Deezy">Deezy</a>, the trio began making music together and did 35&#43; shows in 3 years at countless venues across the city including opening for <a href="spotify:artist:3jHBxvZ9gbBkZ17wKUqVsO" data-name="Kent Jones">Kent Jones</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:2jp3Fk52x0HbymU0lNYbSC" data-name="Outlawz">Outlawz</a>.

In 2018, the trio was offered an opening spot by 10&#64;10 for <a href="spotify:artist:21dooacK2WGBB5amYvKyfM" data-name="Smokepurpp">Smokepurpp</a> at The Palace Theater. Seeing the increase in attention $tik’s debut album was put into production. During the process, the crew opened for the likes of <a href="spotify:artist:2mOzrayQHznyyCwOcGGHOr" data-name="Madchild">Madchild</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5lHRUCqkQZCIWeX7xG4sYT" data-name="Rich Homie Quan">Rich Homie Quan</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7jVv8c5Fj3E9VhNjxT4snq" data-name="Lil Nas X">Lil Nas X</a>, and the late legendary <a href="spotify:artist:4MCBfE4596Uoi2O4DtmEMz" data-name="Juice WRLD">Juice WRLD</a>. $tik also branched out to work with more creatives and artists like <a href="spotify:artist:5aJIHlc8elRssHxsxVAZGa" data-name="Yung Papi Bonito">Yung Papi Bonito</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5XFJkdTKpyUlUWoyik6Ofy" data-name="Tony Toosick">Tony Toosick</a>/<a href="spotify:artist:5a6yAfApln9ROEfKoWskCu" data-name="Toosick">Toosick</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0GX9HSGNcel9s1vCAQCpuG" data-name="Doneze">Doneze</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0xNscjpkVpRtzkzKCjdt5A" data-name="Kuya Jerzey">Kuya Jerzey</a>, YeahThisAlp, Max Storie, and more.
