Tikki Masala is a multi genre music producer, DJ, and ecstatic dance facilitator, blending ancient sounds with modern electronic music. His music moves between many spaces, sometimes made for dance and movement, other times for listening, resting, dreaming, or simply exploring sound as creative expression.
After traveling through India in 2005, he became deeply inspired by the rich textures and spiritual depth of Indian classical music. His productions weave traditional instruments such as sitar, tabla, santoor, sarod, flute, tanpura, harmonium, and vocals together with electronic beats, synthesizers, layered percussion, and deep bass.
Field recordings gathered across India and other parts of the world, including bhajans, kirtans, mantras, street musicians, jam sessions, temple soundscapes, and nature recordings, are woven into his music and blended with psychedelic and hypnotic electronics, creating immersive and evolving sonic journeys.
Over time, his sound evolved into a fluid fusion of world beat, tribal, ethno, downtempo, native beat, bass music, ambient textures, and global dance influences.
Dance became part of his path through the discovery of ecstatic dance, and in 2014 he founded Ecstatic Dance at The Source in Arambol, India. Since then, Tikki Masala has played and facilitated events across India, Europe, Russia, Thailand, Bali, and beyond, while continuing to create music meant not only for dancefloors, but also for listening and inner journeys.
